A ray of hope flickers in the sky
A tiny star lights up way up high
All a cross the land dawns a brand new morn'
This comes to pass when a child is born

 

하늘에 한줄기의 희망의 빛이 비추이고
작은 별들도 저 높은 곳에서 빛나며

온 세상에 새 아침이 밝아오면
한 아기가 태어날 것이라는 새로운 징조이지요

 

A silent fish sails the seven seas

The wind of change whisper in the trees
And the walls of doubt crumble tossed and torn
This comes to pass when a child is born

 

물고기들이 바닷속에서 평화로이 헤엄치며
변화를 알리는 산들 바람이
나뭇잎들에게 속삭이며
의심의 벽들이 산산이 부서져 내리면

한 아기가 태어날 것이라는
새로운 징조이지요

A rosy dew settles all around
You got the feel you're on solid ground
For a feel up too no one seems for long
This comes to pass when a child is born

 

장미빛 이슬이 온 세상을 뒤덮고
마치 넓은 대지위에 우뚝 서 있는 것 같으며
가슴 아파 하던 것들이 씻은 듯이 사라지면

한 아기가 태어날 것이라는 새로운 징조이지요

온 세상이 기다리는 한 아기가 태어날 때면

어떤 색의 피부로 올런지는 아무도 알 수 없지만
그 아이가 자라게 되면 눈물이 웃음으로
증오가 사랑으로 전쟁이 사랑으로 바뀌어
모두가 한 이웃이 될 것이며
그래서 비참함이라던가 고통이라는 말들은
영원히 잊혀진 말들이 될 겁니다
