1988년 영화 '허공에의 질주(Running on Empty)'에 삽입되기도 했던

 'Fire And Rain'은 제임스 테일러가 런던에서 막 애플과 계약하고

데뷔 음반을 준비중이던 때에 미국에서 사망한 그의 여자 친구 수잔을 추억하는 마음과

우울증과 약물 중독에서 벗어나기 위해 힘들게 버텨왔던 자신의 심정을 담아 만든 노래로

우리나라에서도 많은 팝팬들이 사랑하는 곡이기도 하다.

한편 수잔의 비극적인 사고 소식이

제임스 테일러의 음반 작업에 지장을 줄까 우려한 친구들이

데뷔 음반 작업이 모두 끝날 때 까지 사고 소식을 알려주지 않아

제임스 테일러는 음반 녹음이 모두 끝난 뒤에

그녀의 사망 소식을 전해 들었다고 한다.
